How to Find Freelance Work — The Fastest Method I Know

Hello everyone,

Today I want to share a technique for finding freelance work. I used it years ago and it genuinely worked. I met most of the companies I still work with through this method, and we are still working together after all this time.

The technique is about two things: how to collect company email addresses quickly, and how to email them in bulk. Do not worry — you will not be collecting addresses by hand, one at a time.

Collecting company emails

Let me start with the collection part. Whatever your industry is, you can use this method. I am a developer, for example, so I work with software companies and agencies. That means I run a search like this on Google:

Google search operator example

Here is what that search does. The phrase “bursa web tasarım” brings up companies offering web design in Bursa. Adding “mail:” makes Google search inside those results for that word — and what usually sits right next to it?

An email address, of course.

Email addresses visible in search results

Look at the image above. Now that the addresses appear directly in the results without visiting a single site, let me explain how to copy them.

After searching, scroll down as far as you can. The more you scroll, the more companies you get.

Then select the whole page with Ctrl+A, copy it with Ctrl+C, and paste it into the site linked below — it will pull the email addresses out for you.

Write the pitch

Now that you have the addresses, what is left is a message worth reading. If you are good at writing, write it yourself; otherwise I would suggest having ChatGPT draft it. The content of that email is the most important part — it is the thing that sells you.

After that it is just a matter of sending in bulk, which I cover in detail in the video.
